Lewis Morris (1726-1798) waste book, 1738-1772.

88-page notebook belonging to Lewis Morris (1726-1798), used for two separate purposes. Thirty-five pages comprise Morris' "waste book," twenty-nine of which are devoted to detailed records of the "transactions relative to the estate of Lewis Morris, Esq. deceased at Morrisania ye 3 July, 1762..." Thirty-two pages, beginning from the other side of the notebook, are devoted to Morris' early practice of arithmetic, with a handwritten title page "Lewis Morris / His book of arithmetic / Dec. 28, 1738." The remaining pages between the two sections are blank.
